Today I quit my job as a magician. I’ve retired the magic hats, the wands and of course, the illusions.
I want to be a miracle worker instead.
As a magician, I thought I had to do things all on my own. I had to manipulate and control my outer world in order to create some sense of certainty in my life. I would cling so hard to my own magic ideas for how things should go.
I played with the relationship illusion, the money illusion, the job illusion, and the body illusion. I put on quite a show… at the expense of my personal power.
But being a miracle worker requires asking for help. It requires that we put down all the external illusions we think contain our happiness, and instead, listen for guidance.
As miracle workers, we ask for help before we think we need it. We turn to spirituality before all our magic tricks go to chaos.
In this week’s Soul Workout, I talk about how to make this transition from magic to miracles, and the connection between control and lack of peace.
