Love this book. I enjoyed reading about the history of mandalas, their significance and using them as a tool to go inward. Not only that, it got me excited to buy new markers and art supplies ;) I can so relate to the whole concept of starting with a blank canvas and trusting that wherever your mandala leads you is where it's meant to go. Not knowing the end result but starting with that center point and diving in. I really enjoyed this quiet "me" time...candles lit, music playing, markers out...drawing and finding peace. Great introductory book for all those new to the practice :)
I absolutely love this ! When I first started reading it, and as soon as I got to the point where there were instructions on drawing Mandalas, I was so eager to draw, I ran out to my garage to get my supplies and drew my first Mandala, saying suggested mantras and positive affirmations. I felt like I handled myself a lot better throughout the day after that and a lot of stress was relieved. I just felt lighter. It also made me realize how disconnected I was from my art ( I normally would have my supplies much closer) and how much I really need to take the time every day to do something like that for myself, whether it be drawing, yoga, meditation, writing or whatever! I have only drawn one so far and everyone has different ways of connecting with themselves, but I must say the best thing that I have gotten out of this so far is just taking the time for me, and also reconnecting with my art!! 5 stars!!
